This Pulmo-Aide will Last for
about 10 Years. There are 6 screws on the back of a Pulmo-Aide Compressor. If the unit
makes too much noise, you can tighten them up but don't overtighten them. I normally turn the unit on using a Torx T20
screwdriver and tighten up the screws to quite the noise. |

How long can I keep using my disposable nebulizer
parts?
Although there are no set
standards, it is generally accepted that disposable nebulizers should be replaced about
every 2 weeks. Continued usage causes the orifice inside the nebulizer to become enlarged.
This affects the particle size of the mist. Although you will still see a mist, the
particles will become too large to reach the lower airways in your lungs. Therefore if you
use the disposable nebulizer too long you will begin to get less benefit from the
treatment. Be sure to follow your physician's directions and your homecare supplier's
directions in care and cleaning of the nebulizer and replacement of the nebulizer. |

We like the Pari LC Plus Nebulizer much better than
previous ones we've used over the last 10 years. It can be boiled (Boiling the Pari LC Nebulizer) and is easy to shake dry, and easy to adjust for someone sitting in
different positions so that the neb stays upright. It can be used with a mask or
mouthpiece.
You may be interested to know that Dr Allan Coates at The
Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto, Ontario) has done a study comparing different
nebulizers and this is the one that he recommends, because it breaks up the medicine to an
appropriate particle size and delivers more of the medicine than most others. As a result
the Toronto Clinic (Largest CF Clinic in Canada) is switching its patients over to the
PARI LC PLUS NEBULIZER. Dr Allan Coates has found delivery of more of the medication by
using the mouthpiece than the mask.
He has also found that disposable nebulizers, after 2-3
uses gradually develop an enlarged channel that the medicine goes through and then can no
longer deliver the optimum particle size. They really are intended to be single use and
disposable like the package says!

Our doctor prefers the Pari nebulizers as well. He
has gone so far as to require that all his patients use them while in the hospital. They
are the only kind he has in his office. We love them. We have used them for the past 8
years.
Ever since my asthmatic daughter started doing nebs. They also are
guaranteed for 6 months and come with a special mask for infants and toddlers.
